Shot hand held on a hot summer night "after a few beers", Don't Make Me Do It! is a new black and white short film featuring legendary skateboarder Mark Gonzales alongside Alexandra Birchall-White (founder of AïE magazine) and photographer Claudio Cassano. Gonzales is his usual fun self in the laid-back video, skating a concrete hip and bank in his trademark style. Watch above!

When legendary skateboarder Mark Gonzalez goes on a trip to Paris, the resulting footage isn't like your normal skate team tour video. Named "Gonz Dancing", this short shows Mark creating artwork on bottles and riding around the city and reminding us what skateboarding is all about - having fun.

The most influential skater in the history of skateboarding hands down is Mark Gonzales. If you disagree with that then you’re wrong. You can pinpoint Mark back to everything, and know that Mark did it first. A, he did it first; and B, he did it like Mark, which is a really psychotic combo. He did it the best. Everything after was not the same. Everything was so all over the place. Look at Mark’s feet on his frontside ollies—nobody’s got that. It’s like his heels are one the board. It’s just the fucking greatest thing ever. -Jason Dill

Music video for Coconut Records “West Coast” featuring Mark Gonzales.

Oldie but a goodie.

How rad would have it been to see a one man Gonz demo. He’s wearing a fencing kit!

Some rather blurry images have emerged of a chunky new book by the legendary skateboarder/artist Mark Gonzales entitled "Instead of Eros Avenged". Published by Swiss bookmakers Nieves, the photography book is available to buy now from their online shop for $38 (£24). A statement by Nieves reads:

"Mark Gonzales is always in motion and his work is a real-time reflection of that unceasing movement, full of spur-of-the-moment, spontaneous gestures thrown out into the void that is the world that we all inhabit and have to live in and through. What seems ad hoc and instantaneous genuinely is, though there is also a often esoteric and complex set of underlying factors behind these creative effusions that come with literally always making things: drawings, poems, paintings, dolls, defaced newspapers, and in this case, photographs taken with that ubiquitous modern-day equivalent to the Kodak Brownie, the cell phone."
