I talked about all sorts of interesting stuff and laid out the foundation for this article series. Each part leads directly into the next and explains what the heck is going on. If you haven't read a previous part, check out Part 1 and skip along merily through my linear corridor of an article-design. I'll work on a non-linear article series next time, I promise.

The Drs Bioware recently lectured at BAFTA in London, talking to the assembled throng about the art of making RPGs, with particular reference to some fairly big games they’ve made recent, the Mass Effects and The Old Republic. They even bravely attempt to answer questions fielded by the BAFTA audience. I’ve posted an except below (via VG247) a more extensive version of the thing can be seen over here on BAFTA Guru. It’s worth a watch.

Macross Frontier is a Japanese animated science fiction space drama that aired in Japan. It is the most recent Japanese anime television series set in the Macross universe.

Macross Frontier is the story of a human space colony fleet trying to find a habitable planet near the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. The story focuses on three young adults (a famed pop singer, a private military pilot, and a rising pop singer) and the events that occur around them as the fleet faces a crisis of alien origin.

The second  theatrical Macross Frontier film, titled Macross Frontier the Movie: The Wings of Goodbye (Macross Frontier Gekijō-ban ~Sayonara no Tsubasa~), is also based on the Macross Frontier TV series. It acts as a sequel to the 2009 film, including a new story and new music. Although the movie adapts the remaining episodes of the anime series, the movie is an original story.

A BluRay and DVD release of the movie is then announced by Bandai to be released on October 20, 2011. The BluRay version will still be a Hybrid Pack. A PS3 game titled "Macross Last Frontier" is included in the Hybrid Pack, it can be played when the disc is in the PlayStation 3.

Defiance is the next MMO from Trion Worlds. It’s a sci-fi action MMO styled after their first game, Rift. But there’s something even more weird about it: the game is going to be tied into a TV show running in parallel on the SyFy (hnngh) channel. We got to see what this cross-media complication actually means at Gamescom.

[Roving reporter Dan Griliopoulos was left behind after GamesCom and is wandering somewhere in Europe. For those keeping track, today he's near the ominously named Lago D'Isola.]
